Our Fees

Our fees are structured so that your pregnancy care with us is both affordable and predictable.
We request that payment for your antenatal visits in our rooms is settled at the time of your consultation. Payments can be made by EFTPOS, credit card or cash. We can submit your claim directly to Medicare using our on line claiming facility.  If you are registered with Medicare and have recorded your bank details with them, this means your Medicare rebate will be directly deposited in to your nominated bank account.

A schedule of fees and written financial information will be provided to you at your first antenatal visit. Overseas insured patients are welcome. Please contact us for further information on our fee structure.

If you have any questions about our fees or billing structure, please contact our friendly reception team on 07 3832 7399 who will be only too happy to answer your questions.

Medicare
Medicare rebates 85% of the scheduled fee for services rendered by a medical practitioner out of hospital and 75% of the scheduled fee for all inpatient hospital services.

Once you reach the Medicare safety net threshold you may be eligible for additional Medicare benefits for the remainder of the calendar year. To find out more about the safety net and to see if you need to register, click here

Pregnancy Management Fee
The Pregnancy Management Fee or PMF is a fee charged for the management of a pregnancy which has progressed past 20 weeks.

This takes in to account the whole of pregnancy care delivered by specialist obstetricians and the 24 hour availability of expert obstetric care and advice. You will be invoiced for this after your pregnancy reaches 20 weeks. There is a Medicare rebate available for the management fee.

Private Health Funds
Please check with your private health fund to ensure you are fully covered for obstetric care in a private hospital.

We have a “no gap” arrangement with some health funds to enable us to bill your health fund directly for your delivery and in hospital care, however, there are some health funds that may be excluded and you can confirm with our reception staff which funds this applies to. Any hospital visits that are required while you are pregnant will be billed directly to your health fund with no “out of pocket” expense incurred.

You should also check with your health fund whether your baby is covered if there was a need to admit to the special care nursery or neonatal intensive care nursery.

During your pregnancy there may be additional costs for other medical specialists involved in your care, such as
•    Anaesthetist – if an epidural or caesarean section is required
•    Paediatrician – to care for your baby
•    Assistant Surgeon at caesarean section

Sometimes we need to refer to other specialists such as an endocrinologist or surgeon for pregnancy related complications. An account may be sent form these specialists and an out of pocket expense may be occurred.
