Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to our practice.

Having a new baby is a wonderful experience and an exciting time in your life and it is a privilege to look after you during your pregnancy and delivery and those all-important weeks after the birth.

Our friendly, experienced staff are here to help you through this journey to becoming new parents at the Mater Mothers Private Hospital.

If this is your first baby the following information will assist you.

Booking in

As many Obstetricians limit the number of patients they see each month you will need to phone the rooms to book in as soon as possible. Appointments can be made by contacting the rooms on 07 3832 7399.

When you phone our reception staff, they will ask for the first day of your last menstrual period to estimate when your baby is due and provide you with your first appointment. We will need your contact details, Medicare number and private health fund details.

All initial consultations take 30 minutes and each appointment thereafter are scheduled for 15 minutes. Due to the nature of Obstetric practice, delays are sometimes unavoidable and wherever possible we will endeavour to notify you if this is the case to make alternative arrangements.

First Appointment

To streamline the first visit it would be helpful if you can bring the following:

Your referral from your GP or specialist.

•    A copy of any recent blood tests or scans.

•    A copy of your recent pap smear.

In addition it would be appreciated if you could download, print and complete the Patient registration form and Privacy Form (link to page) and return by mail, fax or submit online and bring them with you.
